As much as Nanoha enjoyed having her family around, it was always nice to have some time with just Fate. She let Vivio spend the night with her friends and with no other work to be done, she could at least spend time with Fate.

"Fate? Are you around?" Nanoha called out, looking around their little home. She was certain her dear friend was around.

Fate was not one to ever wish for her family, particularly Vivio, to not be around, but even she occasionally felt the need for alone time. With Vivio away, Fate needed to keep busy, so she did so by preparing dinner and a few surprises for Nanoha.

She needed to, because she would have gone stir crazy with the home empty.

"Nanoha! I'm in here." Fate quickly hid the bright red, heart-shaped package behind her back.

Hearing Fate's voice, Nanoha smiled as she hunted down her dear person, peeking inside the room and currently not noticing Fate hiding anything at the moment.

"Ah, there you are...!" she said, slipping inside to join Fate.

Fate realized her error in trying to hide something behind her back. She couldn't give Nanoha a hug, which was not only disappointing but a sure fire sign that she was up to something.

"Aha, Nanoha. Welcome home. I've missed you."

It was a little worrying that Fate couldn't hug her back as her arms slipped around her, but she was certain her Fate-chan had a reason.

"And I missed you." Nanoha said, pulling herself closer and resting her forehead in the other girl's. "I trust everything is well?"
