[ Jane purses her lips and shrugs. ] What are a few safety concerns to get in the way of fun?

[ She's joking, obviously. She wouldn't get on that ride if she didn't think it was perfectly safe. She's only a little crazy. ]

Don't worry. I'll hold your hand in case you get scared.

[ Said in a teasing tone as she moves towards two seats next to each other, taking a seat on one of them. ]

[She is a bit crazy, but Rhodey can't help finding it attractive. Jane just seems to like taking life by the horns and enjoying the ride.

Now to take his seat alongside her on said ride.]

Thanks. You never know when I might scream like a little kid.

[This is... actually kind of exciting. He starts to ready himself for the inevitable drop.]

[ She settles in with a grin, waiting until the carnie makes sure the safety harnesses are in place and everyone's buckled in properly. Then she reaches a hand towards him as the ride slowly takes them all the way up to the top. ]

I'll promise to try not to laugh.

[ Not that she'll scream any less. A free fall is still a pretty scary thing, even for an adrenaline junkie like her, especially when the seats tip forward slightly so they have nowhere else to look at but the ground. She breathes in deep, closing her eyes for a moment just before they're suddenly dropped.

Then... she screams —pretty loud, at that—, her fingers curling tight into Rhodey's hand. ]

[He appreciates the promise, because he's going to need it when they're dropped. And it's a lot faster than he remembers.

He's screaming his head off, but in the best way he can muster. And even all through that, he can feel Jane's hand curling around his. It gives him a little flutter through all of that adrenaline.]

[ At some point when the ride slows down, her screaming turns to laughter, only to switch back to screaming when they go up and get dropped again. It goes for a while longer, although eventually the notion of time starts to elude her, and when the ride finally slows down and lowers them back to the ground, she can no longer tell what's up and down anymore.

Her legs also definitely feel a little like jelly when she moves to stand up, which only makes her laugh again. ]

[After the first drop, he expects for them to get off. But then it goes back up, dropping them for a second time. More yelling ensues, as does the laughter.

It takes him a while to get his bearings straight as their straps are finally undone. And when he sees Jane laughing over her jelly legs, he can't help joining her.]

That... that was fun. A lot more fun than I remember.

[ Jane keeps giggling as they walk away from the ride, practically feeling the adrenaline rush through her body. Compared to the other people coming out of that ride they don't really stand out, even if they're part of the somewhat small group of people who look more exhilarated than sick to their stomachs.

See, this is why eating before rides is not a good idea. ]

Definitely don't remember it being that fun during training. [ Her eyes practically gleam with excitement right now. ] But maybe it's the company.

[The comment about the company isn't lost on him. In fact, Rhodey has a huge grin on his face because of it.]

Probably because we don't have a bunch of scientists recording our reactions. We can free fall because we want to.

[He almost wants to go on again, but they have other rides to share.]

How about we grab a bite before we hit up the next ride?

So basically we do the crazy thing just for the hell of it.

[ Pursing her lips, she shrugs, grinning again almost immediately. Yep, sounds about right. ]

Mm, sounds great. [ She slows down and tugs on his hand so he stops too. ] Just— one thing first.

[ Without wasting a moment (that's practically Jane's life motto), she curls her free hand on the back of his neck and tugs him down a little, getting on tiptoes so she can press her lips to his in a kiss. ]

Pretty much, yeah.

[He joins her in the grin, but then Jane leans up for that kiss.

After all that excitement and a couple of adrenaline rushes, the ensuing kiss is really... sweet. It's a surprise but not an unpleasant one at all. Rhodey's quite happy to return it as he gently puts one hand upon her waist.]

[ Jane's often prone to going too fast and approaching just about everything with the same level of excitement, but she can also can take some things slow, and she can be sweet in her own way too. Much to the surprise of a lot of people.

Not that the feeling of James's lips against hers isn't exciting in and of itself. But she takes it particularly slow, her arms snaking around his neck as she keeps herself close to him, canting her head a little so she can better fit their mouths together. ]

[The arms around Rhodey's neck makes him jump up and down on the inside. He can barely even remember the last time he was kissed like this, and having Jane deepen it makes it all the sweeter.

Winning the tiger was the original highlight of the date, and now it's easily their kiss. Forget the rest of the carnival. He can do this for the rest of the night and be perfectly content.]

[ Standing around kissing does sound like a very good idea, save for the fact that her arms would get tired after a while. Also there's the fact they're standing in the middle of a somewhat busy fairground, and they haven't had dinner yet. And he's still holding onto that tiger.

So, after a few seconds more of indulging, she finally breaks the kiss, letting out a soft little sigh as he pecks his lips one last time, then pulls away, her arms loosening from around his neck and her hands sliding down his chest. ]

Okay, now we can go grab something to eat.

[Aww dang. Rhodey really did want that to last the rest of the night. Oh well. At least he still gets to spend it with this lovely woman. And the tiger. You can't forget the tiger.]

[He sneaks in another quick kiss before pulling away, but not before he takes her hand in his.]
