Davy spoke softly; one might think that it wasn't something he was used to, with the power he'd been throwing around his realm of Faerie ever since Jake had first arrived, but he had always preferred the way of gentleness. It still hurt him that he had to bring Jake here and force him into this situation the way that he did, but it seemed like they were making the most of it. The look he saw on Jake's face when he saw his- their son gave him some measure of hope that things were okay. Davy smiled across the child to Jake.

"Did you sleep well?" He wanted to reach out and brush his hand against Jake's face, but he still felt he should have some sign that his presence was okay before doing so. He might have been a devil, but even devils had their rules; they were just their own rules and no one else's.
